Love the design, and cool concept. But...

Love the design, and cool concept. Got an XL because Large ran out, but even for an XL, it's quite bigger than normal. Zippered pockets are nice but the inside is mesh, see how that holds up over time. To be honest, not the biggest fan of the chance design. Would be interested in a next iteration of this product, but doubtful considering how expensive it is and that it didn't fly off the shelves, I recon.

Great quality swim shorts

The shorts are comfortable, the material feels durable and the drawstring does it's job well. I like the hydrophase pattern as well. The only thing is once the shorts reach a certain saturation point the pattern is gone again. However regardless of that they're also just a really good pair of trunks.

Cool idea but the pocket design really holds it back

There is an internal zippered pocket on the right leg. In my opinion, this was a poor design/execution.

The "invisible zipper" creates more bulk and "height" in an area that already has lots of stitches. This creates a lot of stacking of the fabric, which is thicker and stiffer than typical swim shorts.

Then the zipper runs the entire height of the pocket into the join between 2 layers of mesh and a layer of swim fabric. Then that swim fabric is either folded over or has some other backing material for the stitch and this all runs horizontally across the thigh.

The extra bulk creates a pressure point on the thigh, which causes discomfort. Sitting in these shorts is also uncomfortable since it pulls the fabric against the thigh even tighter.

I liked the concept of the water reactive fabric but this pocket makes it really uncomfortable to wear.

At $70 USD though, this does compete with swim shorts from O'Neill or Vuori so it seems reasonable to nit pick some smaller details, but none as egregious as the pocket bulk:
- I understand it's a preference but the inseam length is shorter than I'd like. This information was not available in the product description prior to purchase.
- Sizing runs larger than usual but at least the size chart was accurate
- Using full mesh for the pocket seems like it would be a common point of failure. Given how often hands and objects go in and out of pockets, it just seems like a matter of time before the mesh rips from normal wear and tear

Overall, I'm extremely disappointed by this product and have rated it 1 out of 5. Cool idea, but pricey (I paid the full price) and uncomfortable to wear.
